Party / The Art of the Simple Chocolate Course
Break Out the Bars (and Squares)
Serving a simple “chocolate course” instead of a more elaborate dessert at your next dinner party or afternoon gathering with friends is the easiest way to get into the trendy chocolate “bar” scene. Best of all, there’s no baking involved. It’s a fast and stylish way to entertain simply and elegantly with chocolate.
The Chocolate Course Made Simple
Simply break open a premium Ghirardelli bar (or better yet - two, or three different flavors). Break the bars into small, bite-size shards and arrange them attractively on a favorite decorative plate with garnishes. Or, feature 3-4 kinds of Ghirardelli chocolate squares for a more formal look.
Give your presentation that “restaurant flair.” Decorate the plate with some simple dried or fresh fruits, toasted nuts, a flower garnish, or even a favorite cheese.
Serve your chocolates with your favorite after-dinner drinks to complement the types that you’ve selected – choose from fine coffees, teas, liquors and wines. Check out our Chocolate Matchmaking section
Consider choosing a contrasting milk chocolate and a more intense dark or semi-sweet chocolate (such as Ghirardelli’s Intense Dark Twilight Delight)
Pass the plate and nibble away. Voila, you’ve got a sophisticated, but fast and easy, dessert – and a provocative conversation topic for the rest of the evening.
Soon, you’ll be breaking out the bars or squares after dinner on a regular basis, even when you’re home alone!
